When my contractor team used to go out to work with the Seabees at Port Hueneme, California (outside Oxnard) in 2009-2013, we sometimes had a weekend in the area, with free time on our hands.
One such weekend, I wanted to go see the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley nearby. No one else was interested but someone loaned me a rental SUV. My first time driving an SUV and it was in the mountains! Make no mistake, Simi Valley is actually mountainous, with the presidential library near a peak! In fact, the huge glass windowed hangar housing the Air Force One that President Reagan used has a view down the mountain to the valley. Beautiful!
Here is a pic of the President's grave. Very inspirational.
Mary, you are a wonder. I think you should write a book about the places you have been and your thoughts about them. I had to use a magnifying glass to pull up the writing. I loved him as well. He was a hero to me. 💕😔
