Every once in a while I read a G.K. Chesterton book just because he was such a highly rated English writer I feel I should try to understand what he is saying. His words are fine; I understand most of his vocabulary. But his analogies can be hard for me to follow.

Nonetheless, it was fun to read what he thought of his speaking tour in the U.S., especially because it leads to so many comparisons between Americans and Brits, “two peoples divided by a common language.”

He is about the same era as C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien, so if early 20th century British writers are your cup of tea, you may enjoy this book very much.
