A few years ago, I reviewed Randy Alcorn’s “Heaven” for our Ladies’ Meeting. A lot of us have read it since then. It shows eternity will definitely be a whole lot more active than sitting on clouds strumming harps!!!
Now I have just finished his short book (135 pages) “The Treasure Principle.” Once again, Pastor Alcorn shows us how we may have misunderstood something—giving. Giving is not meant to be a joyless, dutybound action. Once we really embrace the true nature of giving, it is a way God infuses our lives with joy as He uses us to affect eternity.
The principle is that we can store up our treasure here . . . Or in our eternal home. Nothing is ever lost that is given to Christ.
The book is an incredible, Bible-infused look at how we, in the richest society ever to exist, can use our riches for the good works that God has foreordained for us to walk in (Ephesians 2:10). It is a challenge to think of missions and of the needy around us. A very good challenge!
I have a copy of the book I will be circulating if anyone wishes to read it.
Do you also have the book, "Heaven"?
