How wonderful for Warrior Wyatt to see Godโs answer to prayer!! Will keep him in prayer until that appendix is OUT!! (I already posted this but didnโt show up so here it is again!! Iโd love to meet this little guy! ๐)
We have our spunky, happy, talking non-stop boy back! He is tolerating foods and moving around with minimal pain. I walked into his room on Saturday and he said to me โmommy, God is good!โ ๐ฅบ๐๐ป
The plan is to remove his IV fluids today, continue to see if he tolerates his food, start oral antibiotics, and possibly discharge tomorrow!! ๐ surgery in a month or two
Update 11/29We were hopeful to discharge earlier than expected since Wyatt was making great progress, but Justin said that Wyattโs pain increased overnight and when I got to the hospital this morning Wyatt seemed to be very uncomfortable and lethargic. The surgeon took away food and started him back on IV fluids then ordered an ultrasound. Thankfully the ultrasound did not show any pus pockets so he does not need a drain. However, he still has a significant amount of inflammation which is causing the pain. She allowed him to eat again and will keep him until Monday to possibly ultrasound him again. We are hoping that the pain will decrease over the weekend. At this point he just needs time.
On a positive note he was gifted his very own Stihl leaf blower that he has had his eye on! We will do anything to see his smile throughout the day ๐
I love the song by Henry and Hazel Slaughter, โI donโt Need to Understandโ (I just Need to Hold His Hand). One thing for sure, we know that Jesus Loves the Little Children and He knows and is watching over Wyatt. He is a prayer answering God who loves to hear from us. Continued prayers!!
Update Wed. 11/27 Wyatt pain was significantly better than the days prior but he is definitely still uncomfortable. The plan is for a repeat ultrasound on Friday. If they canโt visualize the appendix then they will do another one on Monday. We are praying to continue to see improvement!
So glad to see this update and yet sad to read about the complications. Praising the Lord that He is sending the small miracles (handfuls on purpose) and that you are focusing on them! That was sweet to read about the lemonade - what a little warrior!! Continued prayers for that infection to be taken care of and strength to return soon and for a successful surgery!! ๐๐
Update:Wyatt was able to have a clear liquid diet today so of course we gave him the lemonade heโs been begging for the last two days! He was a happy camper even though he couldnโt tolerate too much! His pain is still really bad so we are waiting to see what the surgeons suggest tomorrow to check his progress. Itโs so hard watching your baby be miserable but letting him drink was a HUGE win! Itโs the small miracles we are truly appreciating these days. We still have a long road ahead but we are getting there ๐His intestine are wrapped around a pocket of infection. Surgeons canโt operate on Watt without taken some of his intestines. Praying infections clears up while he is in hospital for next 10 days. They will release him and do surgery in a couple months for him to get stronger .
