So I was noticing that this year both Eastern Orthodox Easter and our Western Easter fall on the same day. I looked up how often that happens. The last time was 2017 so not quite a decade apart usually. (Tap to read more)
Then I noticed we are in the eight days of Passover right now and it ends on . . . you got it! Sunday the 20th.
I think I have seen speculation that Jesus could return on Sunday. That would be glorious but God’s got His date decided and we will find out when we find out . . .
So . . . How much does this week match the original Holy Week? Was Passover eight days back in Christ’s time, too?
If it was, I am thinking He would have been crucified on either the first day or the last day. Probably the last day because, if it was the first day, then the ladies would have gone to anoint the body while it was still Passover and I think they would not have touched a dead body during Passover, right?
We are pretty sure He died on a Thursday or Friday, right? And we know for sure He rose on Sunday.
The ladies would not have gone to the tomb on the Sabbath if He died on Friday. They would have waited till Sunday, right?
But if He died on Thursday and that was the last day of Passover, they could have anointed His body on Friday, right? So do we think He more likely died on Friday?
I feel sure He will tell us all this later so I can wait to find out but if anyone has studied this out, esp Pastor or one of his assistants, I would love to hear about it. :-)
