I want to take a moment in this new year to encourage the wives and mothers among us to thank God for what He did in putting the unique person that is our husband into a marriage with the unique person that is us!
If we trace our journey over time, we can see how He has been growing us together. Sometimes we can see a lot of that at one time!
Three times since Christmas, my quieter, calmer husband has talked me through a family situation with wisdom that was truly from on high. I love when that happens and I have learned to seek and confide in his judgment. When he tells me, "Hold on, this will be okay, you will see!" it is wonderful to see that he is right in the end.
I often say to ladies that our husbands are not a male version of our best friend and we would not want them to be. I treasure the wisdom I get from the Word itself, I treasure the wisdom of my best friend, but truly, and wonderfully, there is a unique wisdom to my husband I could not get from any other source.
I rejoice that marriage was God's idea. He so often takes complete opposites and makes a great, balanced team. Thank You, Lord!
